On Feb. 14th, 2011 the season of Educational Tourism began for Costa Rican Adventures and Chill Expeditions as the Meadowbrook school arrived. Meadowbrook has been coming to Costa Rica with Costa Rican Adventures for five years. Every year they have done community service projects. Throughout the years CRA has strived to create meaningful projects and this years project was just that. CRA formed a relationship with an Old Folks home (Hogar de Ancianos) in the Indigenous territory of Talamanca that is in great need of a helping hand.
Above you see a group photo and a photo of the Nuns thanking the group with a personalized card for the school.
Jobs accomplished: Installing a new sidewalk, chipping away and re-cementing a sidewalk for smooth passage, digging out 2 drainage escapes for heavy rains, re-connecting broken drainage pipes and laying a cement foundation for a ranchito. None of this could have been accomplished without teamwork and positive energy. The Meadowbrook students went above and beyond.
During the thank you’s the nuns said, “The amazing thing about today and the work accomplished is that it was accomplished with a smile. If you work with a smile it will take you far.” Keep smiling!
